Chapter Review Questions

The generalist approach has to do with taking a holistic view on what's going on in the persons biological life. The basic human needs a person has to have before any psychological or social needs can be made. You have to view the whole scheme of it. Assess what is the best approach to take for that particular client at that time. Make sure all the issues that are going on are met. It may take the help of other human service workers to help complete the care that is needed in this case.

I think electicism is neccessary for being an effective human service worker because you need to be able to look at things in a variety of ways with an open mind and not judge.

An intern is enrolled in a college credit course. A volunteer works at a agency without pay or credit towards a college credit course. An employee is someone who is paid and may have up to a Master Degree, volunteers, or is an intern.

The two reasons I want to work in Human Services is to help counsel others. The need for variety and flexibility. To keep it fresh when one area gets to be to much there are always others areas to go into to help.

This isn't a wealthy occupation to go into its about what you get out of helping others. This isn't a field to go into if you are looking for a power trip of helping others either.

The 1st chapter was pretty much what I expected. I am in this field as I know people will always need help its a way of meeting lots of unique individuals as well.

I am moving up in the world responding to discussion boards and now my own blog! Who new I would become this web savy lol.

I made a guy that was feeling blue on Monday very happy as I shared something with him. I have found some people can get depressed more easily than others. So that made me feel good plus he told me I looked beautiful and that didn't hurt either.
